This is the first travelling historical-linguistic-cultural-environmental workshop aimed at families with children aged between 4 and 14 years on holiday on San Pietro Island, in order to discover, while having fun, the village with a Ligurian heart: Carloforte, its history, its people, its language, its traditions.
Each family will receive a personalised exploration kit, to be requested at the time of booking. Equipped with a map, binoculars and much more, the participating families, divided into teams, will explore the town built in 1738 by the King of Savoy. Natalia will illustrate stage by stage the history of the construction of the monument to the king, the arrival of the French, the stories of slavery (1741 and 1798), the history of the Madonna dello Schiavo, the fortifications, the ancient trades of the Galanzieri and the tonnarotti that characterised the birth and development of the Ligurian community transplanted on the island of San Pietro.
The workshop continues in an evocative area within the walls of the city of Carloforte, where various games will be played, including tabarchino tongue-slinging and snap quiz. At the end, prize-giving for the participating families. And let the adventure begin!
